Commemoration Day (sometimes referred to as Martyr’s Day) is celebrated as a public holiday on December 1. In 2015, the day was declared by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE to honour Emiratis who died for their country.
