Delicious Tapas at Home – Spicy Chorizo Empanadas


  • Hot Spanish chorizo
  • Red onion
  • Short crust pastry
  • Flour for dusting
  • Egg wash


  • Whole plain yogurt
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Cilantro
  • Salt &pepper



  1. Chop the chorizo and red onion and pulse in blender to combine.
  2. Roll out the short crust pastry and cut large circles with a cookie cutter.
  3. Take up a generous amount of mixture and put in the centre.
  4. With your fingers overlap the pastry to close in the filling. Like a half moon.
  5. Use a fork to crimp the edges of the empanadas.
  6. Bake at 375 F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Serving Suggestion

Serve on a wooden board or decorative platter alongside the cooling yogurt dip. Enjoy!
