I am often asked about my favorite travel destinations. For lifestyle it is definitely Nepal and for that reason, I have chosen a photo of me near the Mount Everest Base Camp as the banner for my ‘Travel & Lifestyle’ page. For food it is Spain and more specifically, the city of San Sabastian which is part of the historic Basque region in Spain.
I will be using my Travel & Lifestyle blog to explore the intersection of food, travel and lifestyle. As a devout wanderlust, I have been blessed with the opportunity to travelling the globe from home bases in Canada and Abu Dhabi. The plan is to navigate the exotic with the simple pleasures of outdoor living. One month you may find me fishing for arctic char in the wilds of northern Canada while the next I may be found hiking Mount Kenya.
The initial photographs that I have included with this my inaugural blog are a reflection of the accessibility of experiences that are available from the middle-east and Canada. In Abu Dhabi most weekends I can be found escaping on our boat “Non-Such”. From Abu Dhabi, you could find me snorkeling with Whale Sharks in the Philippines or scuba diving with Manta Rays in the Maldives. I could be found exploring the spice island of Zanzibar, driving in a safari on the Serengeti, hiking in Nepal or surfing in Sri Lanka. I could be playing amateur archeologist in Egypt or Byblos, Lebanon, the latter of which is recognized oldest continually inhabited city in the world. I have included photographs of my trek with mountain gorillas in Rwanda, Uganda and Congo as well as me hot air ballooning in Egypt. From Canada I have included photographs of me salmon fishing and travelling over the snow on skidoo. I love Canada and the United Arab Emirates but I also love to travel. I love the outdoors lifestyle. I love food. Let’s explore together.
I hope you will follow my blog as I write about the rich diversity of food, travel and lifestyle experiences that I have been given the opportunity to explore. I’m planning my next trip. In June I will be travelling to Ethiopia and in July I go back to Canada for my yearly fishing experience. Now if I can only find a reason to go back to San Sabastian and sample the amazing food of the Basque.
